    They had 4 good songs together in the beginning & numerous in the 80's "Wait For Me" I believe was written by Daryl. "SARA SMILE" Written by Daryl & his gf at the time the infamous Sara "RICH GIRL" Written by Daryl about Sara's boyfriend or ex bf. I'm guessing Daryl didn't like him that day for whatever reason, maybe jealous because he was Sara's ex or soon to be 😉 'SHE'S GONE" Idea & hook came to Oats after being stood up new years eve. He told Daryl & either Daryl or both finished the song the following day. Coming up with the hook's very important. This early song has been listed as one of the best top 500 songs ever written. Both men credited & probably why they continued to brand & market their work together as it was making them rich. It's hard to put egos aside, especially in the music industry but these guys did a darn good job working together & trying to keep their egos in check. Both applying themselves as best they could. Daryl definitely has better vocals. Both good looking & as professional as one can be in that line of work. I've learned while married to a musician for years that the music industry can be pretty sleazy. With that in mind I can also say I don't remember ever hearing anything really bad about either men. That industry can really screw folks up & it's hell on relationships. Anyways, they worked hard together presenting themselves as a brand which in itself probably was a pain in the ass to carry on but it made them rich & as their popularity grew they involved more writer's in order to keep popping out the hits. As they aged Oats wanted to sell his half but from what I've gathered Daryl wasn't happy about with whom Oats was trying to sell his half to. Mainly because Daryl would be left to deal with them forever or most likely sell to get away from them. Guessing it was someone he either didn't like personally or didn't like the way they handle business so he's filed a suit in order to halt the sale. Can't say I don't blame him. I've also heard they might be getting close to working something out so both can live happily with the outcome & are free to do their own thing or at this point sit back & enjoy what they've worked so hard to achieve. They have different styles. Oats more country if I dare say. A lot of his self released music sounds the same. So far I've not heard anything that would be consider a hit. Daryl of course has that beautiful voice & can sing darn near anything from any genre. His recent song "Too Much Information" & " Can't Say No To You" are catchy but I really like 'Get Out Of The Way" from about 5yrs ago & a couple others. Both very talented. Hope they're able to work out a deal & keep their stress at a minimum. They've worked too hard to lose a bunch of money hiring attorneys. Oats, I'm assuming wanting to retire & spend time with his wife, seems to be happy. ❤ Daryl's had a rough few recent years getting divorced, then she passed away. He probably still cared about her. Losing long time friends too, RIP . Then having a disagreement with John. Do hope he continues his shows from home as he looks pretty happy while doing those. It's good to see him smile. ❤ Thank them both & all involved for the great music.

    Daryl, when did you get so negative on life? Your music always made fans want to get up and dance, happy positive songs. I saw H&O in Erie,PA, in the 90s in our rehabilitate theater. It was great and I was up dancing! I got about 4 hours of sleep . I had to be at work the next am in Cleveland, Ohio, and it was so worth it.

    This was great and what I was looking for. I'm torn between resurrection and the 45th. I guess it just depends on on my mood, if I play a resurrection I appreciate each and every band member and the songs themselves and if I play 45th it just takes me back to how I originally heard it. Would be great to hear some talk on The Cults album 'Love' remaster. It just seems to me the bass is way too high in it on certain songs.

    Does anyone buy a re-mix or remaster because it might sound better?? These releases are surely for the completist and if others buyers get dragged in then that's a bonus. It's funny hearing people saying they wouldn't have bought a particular version if they knew it was inferior to another!!! Why would you buy it anyway? I ducked out of that many years ago, it's impossible to catch up with what's gone before nevermind what's coming out now. A Kiss collection is a beautiful thing though, a collection like no other I'd say...

    Great show guys, just shows how obvious it is that bon Scott had already written most of the lyrics to back in black because even the next album is a huge downhill step. Although it has great production and sounds great the lyrics aren't in the style or quality of bon at all unlike all the previous albums.

    the P33C-20006 Japanese CD is worth comparing.

  • @contentm3893
    @contentm3893 8 місяців тому

    Correct me if I'm wrong but you need to run everything through a receiver for various reasons. Turntables don't have D/A converters, etc. You don't have to have a 24 band equalizer or any presets.

    • @CobrasFireRockPodcast
      @CobrasFireRockPodcast 8 місяців тому

      What you need is an amplified source of some kind. I bypass the receiver because all receivers have some level of built in eq. Also, like most people, I have my receiver set up for what I think sounds good. I wanted to remove that from the equation as much as I could. Depending on your equipment, many players have outs with just a bit on amplified signal. My CD from the 90's does. And my turntable does as well. I record them direct into a zoom H4N Pro and set the levels there. Now at the end of the day, whatever you or anyone else listens to this on will sound different than what someone else will hear. So it's not an exact science by any means but I do feel it's fair in the sense of using for comparison.

    • @contentm3893
      @contentm3893 8 місяців тому

      @@CobrasFireRockPodcast I disagree. The output on your CD ( like the ones I have) can go through the headphone jack (with volume control) but that source is not a perfect analog source like you think it is. The same goes for your turntable. That's no where near a perfect source to listen to because it has no source to drive the signal once it get it. It is the source but something has to be done with it. You don't have the power from the source to power the signal properly into your headphones. Simple as that. Your recover analogy is also wrong. The receiver isn't giving the source material a sound or flavor of sound. Just use the same setting each time. The receiver is taking the source and adding the power that it needs to reproduce it. The receiver isn't going to make the original Destroyer pressing sound better or worse than the 87 or 2003 pressing or original Japanese import CD sound better or worse.

    • @CobrasFireRockPodcast
      @CobrasFireRockPodcast 7 місяців тому

      @@contentm3893 like most people, I have my receivers EQ's tweaked to whatever room it's in to my personal preference. I guess I don't feel like zeroing all that out just for these videos. Plus even with everything at zero, every receiver has it's own sort of sound. At the minimum, it alters it more than a direct source out. Regardless this is a consistent comparison from beginning to end. Like I said, the difference may be nominal, primarily since I have no idea what anyone watching is listening through. It is my effort to get it as close to the source as possible. I never said perfect nor is that possible. Just that it's better than running the audio through a receiver before recording. I mainly wanted to explain my method for those who care.

    • @contentm3893
      @contentm3893 7 місяців тому

      @@CobrasFireRockPodcast That's not my point. I'm first talking about what you are running you audio through to listen to. It's not quality because you think you're keeping the source and path to your ears honest. But your not.

    • @CobrasFireRockPodcast
      @CobrasFireRockPodcast 7 місяців тому

      @@contentm3893 I explained my process and how I did it. I also explained it's benefit may be minimal due to the fact I have no control over what people choosing to listen to this video, listen to it with. You put words in my mouth, or at the very least misquote me to make some sort of point. Nothing I've said is remotely wrong. It's clear that regardless of my explanation, you will interpret it how you want. Your questions aren't geared towards discussion, you want to give a lecture. I did one of these and was encouraged to do another. You are coming off like someone pissed they didn't do it. Go find someone else to incorrectly correct. Peace.
